The objective of The making of a handcrafted skirt class is to learn all the steps required to sewing a hand made skirt. From marking to cutting and sewing as well as the finishing steps and pressing.

The program is oriented towards a practical approach to handcraft, each step is demonstrated and explained to the student, which is then tutored in accomplishing the different techniques applied to the making of a skirt following traditional methods of bespoke (couture) straight line skirt (fully lined).

Certain steps have to be accomplished by the student outside of the class. (no sewing machine required.)

Needles, threads, thimble and all required material are provided.

Different types of material (cloth) will be available for the students to choose from.

Note: Students are allowed to bring their own cloth but it needs to validated first with the teacher. The cloth needs to be 100% natural otherwise it cannot be used in class. The student is responsible of taking class notes, a technical sheet will be provided but additional notes are highly recommended.

 Part 1 and 2: Theory, introduction to marking, cutting and preparing, sewing. et à la coupe) coupe, début de confection. Part 3 and 4: sewing, finishing and pressing of the skirt.

 Durée : 20 hours (2 classes of 7 hours and 2 classes of 3 hours)

Tarif : 850 $ + taxes, materials included

Required knowledge: Know how to work with an open thimble, know the basic needlepoints.
